New to AI Build Lab?

What is Foundations 2.0?

Foundations 2.0 is AI Build Lab's flagship 4-week intensive program where professionals learn to engineer production-grade AI agent systems. No coding experience needed. No technical background required. If you can write a clear email, you can build an AI agent team. In 2026, we took everything we learned from Foundations 1.0 and rebuilt the entire curriculum from scratch. Not a single module is the same.

We sat down and asked: what does the agentic landscape actually look like right now? What skills will matter in 6 months? In a year? Then we rebuilt the program from head and heart to serve exactly that. The result is a curriculum focused on the 1% of 1% skills in agentic workflows: the things 99% of professionals still don't know how to build. Our students come from marketing, operations, consulting, education, healthcare, and every industry in between. The common thread is ambition, not a CS degree.

At the end of the program, every student walks away with a complete, end-to-end AI agent system they can demo to clients, sell as a service, or deploy in their business. Not a toy. Not a tutorial project. A real system. But more importantly, they learn the process: idea to PRD to build plan to assemble to evaluate to deploy. That methodology transfers directly to any business, any organization, any use case. Students walk away with both a deployable product AND the methodology to build the next one.

Completely Rebuilt for 2026

What's New in 2.0

Every module is new. Every workflow is new. Here are the key differences from Foundations 1.0.

Curriculum

Completely Revamped Curriculum

Not an update. A complete rebuild. We tore it down and rebuilt from scratch for where the agentic space is right now in 2026. Not a single module is the same as 1.0.

Architecture

Orchestrator Agent Architecture

Students build Holler, a full router and orchestrator agent that coordinates handoffs between five specialist agents. Real multi-agent orchestration, not just chaining prompts.

Methodology

PRD-Driven Agent Design

Agents are designed like products using PRDs as agent specs. Behavior contracts, capability boundaries, and evaluation criteria, all defined before a single prompt is written.

Quality

Full Evaluation System

Observational evals with structured scoring. Students learn to measure agent performance systematically, not just vibe-check outputs. Includes the complete eval framework and rubrics.

AI-Native

PRD-Driven Design with Archie

Every agent starts as a Product Requirements Document. Archie, the PRD agent, turns your research into structured agent specs with behavior contracts, capability boundaries, and evaluation criteria before a single prompt is written.

Outcome

End-to-End Deployable System

The final deliverable isn't a certificate. It's a complete system. Six agents, two workflows, 40+ prompts, human-in-the-loop oversight. Built to demo, sell, or deploy on day one.

What You'll See

Live Demos. Real Systems.

Tyler and Sara walk you through every major component of the new curriculum and demo the full system live.

🤖

The Hattie B's Agent Team

Using Hattie B's Hot Chicken as the teaching case study, see CinnaMon, Holler, Hatch, Scratch, Sugar, and Kansa work together. Seven agents, one mission: handle customer emails from inbox to sent with zero code. Students then build the same system for an organization of their choosing.

Two Production Workflows

Workflow 1 processes emails automatically. Workflow 2 puts you in the loop with a Slack-based review system. See both run end to end.

📊

The Evaluation System

Meet Evy, the universal eval agent. Watch structured scoring against rubrics replace gut-feel vibe checks. This is how you know your system actually works.

🧠

Gigawatt & The Fisk Method

See how students use Gigawatt (their AI engineering partner) and the eight-phase Fisk Method to build production agents from scratch. No coding required.

👥

From Idea to Production

See the full lifecycle: from idea to PRD (Archie), to build (Gigawatt + the Fisk Method), to evaluate (Evy), to deploy. These skills transfer directly to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and any AI development environment you use next.

💡

The Meta Skill

The methodology you learn here transfers everywhere. Spec-driven development. Orchestration thinking. Evaluation mindset. Whether you're building in Cassidy, Claude Code, Cursor, or custom frameworks, the process is the same: define the spec, build the system, measure the results.

"Hands down the best course I've ever taken (for context, I've taken a wide variety from Product School, MIT exPro, Nielsen Norman, etc). Sara and Tyler are extremely knowledgeable, open hearted, and fun."

★★★★★

"I can't recommend learning from Sara and Tyler enough. They're not just teaching theory -- they're real-life practitioners actively using and selling AI in the marketplace."

★★★★★

"Tyler & Sara are the BEST instructors thus far, very generous with their time and depth of content. This is the real deal if you look to build skills that you can actually use at work."

★★★★★

"This course turned my AI tinkering into a systematic practice. I built a multi-step review analyzer during the course and am packaging it as a client case study."

Why We Rebuilt Everything

Foundations 1.0 was a powerhouse. Fourteen cohorts. Hundreds of professionals building real AI agents and shipping real automation. Students walked in knowing nothing about AI and walked out with working systems they used every day. That course changed careers. It still does.

"The landscapes changed considerably, and Tyler and I had to have a heart-to-heart and go, okay, well, how do we best serve people now with where things are heading in 2026?"

Sara Davison, Foundations 2.0 Orientation

So we took everything that made 1.0 great and asked: what if we went even deeper? We pulled the most powerful frameworks from our advanced DocGen course, rebuilt them at the foundational level, and created something that meets the moment. Same philosophy: evolution, not revolution. Same commitment to every student shipping something real. Just a whole lot more firepower.

1.0 The Original

2 agents and agentic workflows built over 4 weeks that students used in their real businesses
Prompt engineering mastery: learning to communicate with AI clearly and get consistent results
Hands-on evaluation: testing your agents by running them and refining based on real outputs
One shared case study: everyone built to the same scenario, hand-assembling every workflow step by step
Focused curriculum: everything you needed was taught in class, no outside reading required
Working automation as the final deliverable: you left with something running

2.0 The Next Level

6 specialized agents that work as a coordinated team, each with a clear role, managed by an orchestrator and checked by a QA gatekeeper
Context engineering, the skill that separates agents that guess from agents that perform. You learn to design the environment so the AI consistently gets it right
Structured evaluation so you can prove your agents work. Weighted rubrics, automated scoring, and a dedicated eval agent that catches what you would miss
A working blueprint first, then your own build. Study a production-grade system, understand every layer, then recreate it for your own organization
42 curated readings from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and top research labs. The same papers the professionals read, made accessible
A product you can actually use. Complete with a PRD, eval data, and ROI documentation. Walk out ready to demo it, sell it, or ship it

This Is the Foundation

Multi-agent orchestration. Context engineering. Structured evaluation. These are not buzzwords. They are the core skills behind every advanced AI system being built today. Once you understand how to design, build, evaluate, and trust these systems, everything else opens up. Autonomous research agents. Content pipelines that run while you sleep. Products that work on day one. It all starts here. Foundations 2.0 is where you learn to build with AI, not just use it.
